Baptism is an important event in the believer’s walk with Jesus Christ. The Bible talks about water immersion baptism in which a believer makes a public confession of their faith. Jesus led the way in the example of water baptism.
1. In Matthew 3:13-17, we read about the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
2. In 1 Peter 3:21, we read that “this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”.
3. Baptism is not just a physical act, but it is an appeal to God for a clear conscience and a public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ.
May this message inspire you to reflect on the significance of baptism in your own life and walk with Christ. AMEN!
